By Kruah ThompsonThe European Union (EU) has reaffirmed its commitment to strengthening its bilateral partnership with Liberia, with renewed focus on youth empowerment, infrastructure development, agriculture, and energy distribution, particularly in rural communities.
EU Ambassador to Liberia, Nona Deprez, said the Union remains a long-term and predictable partner to Liberia and will continue supporting key sectors critical to the country’s development.
Ambassador Deprez further noted that the EU is supporting democratic governance by strengthening the media and policy institutions.
On the energy sector, she said EU interventions are focused on expanding electricity distribution, especially in southeastern Liberia.
“Our investment drive is guided by democracy and good governance,” Ambassador Deprez said, adding that Liberia has made encouraging progress and remains ready for deeper collaboration.
