Local native Ted Parker is Executive Director of Youthab, one of three benevolent non-profit pillars within the umbrella of the legal, incorporated entity called Youth Habilitation Quinte Inc. Youth, adolescent and adults served number over 15,000 annually across all offices. “Youthab,” says Ted, “is a non-profit, social services agency, a registered charitable organization. Their mission is to support, connect, and empower individuals to attain and maintain affordable housing, good mental health, and employment with the goal of facilitating their transition to independence. This, until we feel they are at a point where they have reached their goals and then we encourage them to manage things on their own.
