Four Maine cookbooks were honored Wednesday evening at the regional Readable Feast cookbook gala, annual awards given to cookbooks and other food books about New England or written by New Englanders. Another seafood cookbook, “The Blue Food Cookbook: Delicious Seafood Recipes for a Sustainable Future,” co-written by South Freeport resident Barton Seaver and celebrity chef Andrew Zimmern also took home three awards, all honorable mentions, in the categories of Seafood, Socially Conscious, and Single Subject. “Warm Your Bones: Cozy Recipes for Chilly Days and Winter Nights,” Portland resident Vanessa Seder‘s third cookbook, got an Honorable Mention in two categories: Cookbook of the Year and Aesthetic Achievement. The awards were held at Summer Shack restaurant in Cambridge, Massachusetts. More than two dozen books were considered, all published between Oct. 1, 2024 and Oct. 30, 2025.
