AI Is Disrupting Education. The Question Is Which Institutions Are Equipped to Govern It.
['Samuel J. Abrams']
American Enterprise Institute – AEI
AI does not disrupt education in the abstract; it tests the governing capacity of institutions that have already ceded judgment.
In many institutions, education came to be governed at a distance—measured, audited, and standardized—precisely the conditions under which AI now feels destabilizing rather than manageable.
By contrast, the institutions most alarmed by AI are often those that long ago diluted human engagement in favor of scale.
Institutions that retain authority, judgment, and human accountability adapt.
That responsibility remains where it belongs: with institutions willing to govern wisely and reassert the human core of teaching and learning.
