ANZ Bank New Zealand Limited (ANZ NZ) today announced that after 13 years as an independent non-executive director, Dame Joan Withers will retire from the Board with effect from 1 July 2026. Dame Joan joined the ANZ NZ Board on 1 July 2013 and has chaired the Human Resources Committee since 1 October 2016. Scott St John, ANZ NZ Chair, said as one of New Zealand’s leading governance experts, Dame Joan has played an important role on the Board.
