Nashville, TN – The Tennessee Department of Transportation (TDOT) continues to urge motorists to stay home as clearance of interstate and state routes continues. TDOT crews are on day seven of around-the-clock operations and are making real progress despite challenging conditions. The Executive Order gives TDOT the ability to assist on non-state roads by clearing routes of snow and ice and removing downed trees. For TDOT to be deployed on non-state roadways, the request must come from the city or county through the Tennessee Emergency Management Agency (TEMA). We remind motorists to reduce speed, increase following distance, and stay alert for sudden icy patches, downed trees, and power lines.
