Muskellunge— or muskie— are one of the largest and most prized fish in the Great Lakes. But hundreds of years of shoreline development have shrunk the spawning grounds of these massive swimmers. For decades, the Michigan DNR has raised and stocked muskies with the goal of releasing 40,000 fingerlings every year.
