Special to IFNFood for Days backpack meals ministry is asking the community to help support its efforts to ensure children facing food insecurity don’t go hungry. Food for Days currently provides weekend meal bags to 19 schools within Iredell County. These food bags are delivered to school social workers, who ensure the students receive the bag to take home weekly. A group of churches donates the necessary food items and adopt schools. Unfortunately, food costs have increased by 40 percent, and Food for Day needs additional support to keep the ministry well stocked with food for students.
