Teledyne Gavia, a unit of Teledyne Technologies, has delivered the first four GAVIA autonomous underwater vehicle (AUV) systems to the Swedish Defence Materiel Administration (FMV).
It forms part of efforts to update the Swedish Armed Forces’ fleet with technology aimed at strengthening underwater surveillance and operational procedures.
The agreement between Teledyne Marine and FMV provides for GAVIA AUVs to support multiple tasks linked to fleet modernisation.
GAVIA AUVs are designed for deployment from ships or shore and can operate in depths up to either 500 metres (m) or 1,000m, depending on configuration.
