Donegal man, 30s, to stand trial on 46 alleged sex charges

A Co Donegal man is to stand trial on 46 sex-related charges.
The man appeared by videolink at Letterkenny District Court charged with the offences which include rape, sexual assault and the sexual exploitation of a child.
He is charged with 10 counts of rape, contrary to section 48 of the Offences Against the Person Act, 1861 and section 2 of the Criminal Law (Rape) Act, 1981 as amended by section 21 of the Criminal Law (Rape) (Amendment) Act, 1990.
All the offences are alleged to have happened at various locations between December 11th, 2019 and December 31st, 2022.
Garda Sergeant Jim Collins said the Director of Public Prosecutions had consented for the man to be sent forward to the current sitting of the Central Criminal Court for trial.
