A solicitor for Donegal County Councillor Frank McBrearty has asked a Judge to allow his client’s Circuit Court matters to be dealt with before addressing his District Court cases. The Raphoe-based councillor was not in court for the mention of his charges at Letterkenny Circuit Court. The 56-year-old, of Tullyvinny, Raphoe, faces a number of charges in the district court. Councillor McBrearty’s solicitor, Mr Patsy Gallagher, said his client faces “more substantive matters” before the February sitting of Letterkenny Circuit Court. He said the reality was that Councillor McBrearty’s circuit court cases will not be dealt with during the upcoming siting of Letterkenny Circuit Court.
