Grenada celebrates World Wetlands Day 2026
['Now Grenada']
NOW Grenada
Through a collaboration coordinated by the Wise Use of Caribbean Wetlands project in Grenada, Grenada Fund for Conservation, Government, and local community groups in the tri-island state will join the global community in celebrating World Wetlands Day 2026.
Grenada’s wetlands include mangrove forests, estuaries, lakes, and coastal lagoons, and they support much of our nation’s biodiversity.
Traditional practices passed down through generations — such as sustainable harvesting and seasonal monitoring — offer timeless lessons for conservation amid climate and pollution challenges.
By integrating local wisdom with modern policies, Grenada can promote resilient local communities.
This World Wetlands Day exhibition promises to be a diverse and informative affair, and we welcome the general public to visit and learn about wetlands and action to conserve them in Grenada.
