State police car hit on I-70 near Plainfield marks 6th crash in 5 daysINDIANAPOLIS (WISH) — An Indiana State Police car was struck on an Indianapolis-area interstate Thursday morning, marking the sixth such accident in the last five days.
Trooper Jordan Hall was sitting in his car, investigating a crash on eastbound I-70 west of Plainfield, when another vehicle “spun out of control” and struck the back of Hall’s vehicle, according to state police.
On Wednesday, a similar crash on I-65 near 38th Street in Indianapolis sent Trooper Nick Klingkammer to the hospital.
John Perrine tells News 8 none of the six crashes into ISP vehicles in the Indianapolis District became life threatening, but some troopers are still recovering at home.
“It’s heartbreaking that people have to make a poor decision to drive the way they do,” Perrien said.
