Chinese heavy machinery and construction equipment manufacturer Sany has launched the STT4501E2-D – a fully-electric terminal tractor.
With the electric terminal tractor Sany says it is responding to the increasing demands for reduced emissions, noise reduction, and economical operation.
According to Sany the fully electric drive results in noticeable savings in energy and maintenance costs during operation – especially in ports where machines are in use for many hours.
It says the optimised battery capacity, long running times, and lower service requirements will help form the basis for a gradual switch to electric fleets for many operators.
“The demand for electric solutions is growing noticeably – and with this model, we offer a mature alternative that has already proven itself in real-life port operations.”
