Manitoba Public Insurance (MPI) has announced that due to a confirmed case of measles at the Winkler Service location, and in the best interest of the health and safety of staff, customers, and the community, the Winkler Service Centre will be closed January 29 to 30, 2026. Officials say that at this time, the intent is to have the service centre reopen on February 2, 2026, but will continue to monitor the situation and reassess as needed. All customers with appointments at the service centre will be contacted to reschedule. Anyone who was at the Winkler Service Centre between January 21-23, 2026, is asked to monitor themselves for symptoms. Several days after the initial symptoms, a red blotchy rash appears on the face and progresses down the body.
