PC Is by Far the Most Popular Platform for Developers, GDC Survey ShowsAs is tradition, the Game Developers Conference has released the results of its annual survey on platform preferences among developers. Once again, PC stands out as the most popular platform by a wide margin, while Xbox ranks last among the major consoles. However, with 2,300 developers interviewed, the results still offer a meaningful snapshot of the current state of game development. The next most popular platforms are PlayStation 5 and Steam Deck, tied at around 40%. Overall, the results highlight a clear trend: PC development interest is more than double that of the most popular consoles, namely PS5 and Nintendo Switch 2.
