GEORGIANA, Ala. — Revenue freight is once again moving on a short line in southern Alabama.
The Pinsly Railroad Co.’s Georgiana & Andalusia Railroad recently restored freight service on the 36-mile rail line between the CSX interchange at Georgiana and Andalusia, Ala.
Both are located near the end of the line in Andalusia.
The Georgia & Andalusia Railroad began operations in late October 2025 after Pinsly purchased the property from Three Notch Railway, a Genesee & Wyoming company [see “Pinsly begins operating its ninth …,” Trains.com, Oct. 17, 2025].
G&W had operated the railroad since 2011, but the track had deteriorated to the extent that rail service stopped in November 2024.
