KIM BURTON-SCHRAMLOCAL JOURNALISM INITIATIVE REPORTERResidents and business owners attended the recent South Glengarry Council meeting to express their opposition to two development plans in the Lancaster area.
The first development is on County Road 34, just north of Lancaster, where a transportation terminal and motor vehicle repair garage has been proposed.
Margaret Peters Morris, owner of Glengarry Fine Cheese, spoke of the lovely, rural agricultural community that is found in Lancaster.
Opposition was also expressed to a zoning amendment planned for 21899 Old Highway 2.
Heavier traffic, extended hours of business operations, noise pollution and safety were just some of the concerns mentioned.
