Islamabad: Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif has congratulated the nation on the completion of Pakistan International Airlines’ privatisation, calling it a landmark step toward economic reform and improved governance of state-owned enterprises. In a statement, the prime minister said the sale of the national flag carrier marked the end of years of financial losses and inefficiencies that had placed a heavy burden on public finances. PM Shehbaz said the privatisation process reflected the government’s resolve to implement difficult but essential reforms aimed at stabilising the economy. The prime minister assured that employee rights had been safeguarded during the transition and that operational continuity would be maintained.
