– The Cambridge Police Department arrested a man on assault and gun charges on Tuesday evening. Police arrested 36-year-old Jamel Levine Newman of Cambridge on charges of first and second degree assault, reckless endangerment, and related gun charges. Officers also located a loaded 9mm SAR Handgun containing a total of 12 rounds of ammunition. Further, a shotgun was located in a bedroom with additional ammunition for the firearms. Neither gun was locked with a safety lock or in a safe, and was accessible to a nine-year-old child in the residence.
