Sepahijala, Jan 29 — The National Investigation Agency (NIA) carried out a late-night search operation in Tripura’s Sepahijala district on Wednesday in an effort to trace Anwar Hossain, wanted in connection with alleged anti-national activities. A special NIA team, assisted by local police from Bishalgarh police station, conducted the operation in the Karoi Mura area of Bishalgarh, where Hossain is believed to have familial links. The search followed the issuance of an arrest warrant against Hossain by a special NIA court in Guwahati, sources said. Despite an extensive multi-hour search, Hossain could not be traced. The NIA action is part of an ongoing investigation, with the agency reportedly intensifying surveillance and intelligence gathering in the area.
