Bruce Springsteen has released the anti-ICE protest song Streets of Minneapolis. The Boss shared the emotive new single on Wednesday (28.01.26) in response to the deaths of Renee Good and Alex Pretti, who were killed in separate incidents at the hands of Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) in the US city this month. Springsteen said in a statement: “I wrote this song on Saturday (24.01.26), recorded it yesterday and released it to you today in response to the state terror being visited on the city of Minneapolis. “It’s dedicated to the people of Minneapolis, our innocent immigrant neighbours and in memory of Alex Pretti and Renee Good. “Stay free.”The lyrics paint a bleak picture of unrest, describing how “a city aflame fought fire and ice ‘neath an occupier’s boots” and brands ICE as “King (Donald) Trump’s private army from the DHS”.
