Morocco’s Royal Armed Forces (FAR) have set up emergency camps to shelter residents affected by severe flooding in the city of Ksar El Kebir, northwest Morocco, “H24 Info” reported. The President of the Municipal Council, Mohamed Simo, called on residents in at-risk areas to immediately evacuate their homes and move to higher ground. Local authorities have mobilized all available public facilities, including youth centers, schools, and cultural centers, to accommodate displaced residents, with priority given to vulnerable populations, Simo said. The situation also prompted authorities to evacuate patients and medical staff from a neighborhood hospital on Wednesday night. Videos on social media show water surging through streets and neighborhoods, submerging cars and overflowing from sewers and other drainage points.
