Morocco’s Ministry of Health and Social Protection launched the country’s first robotic surgery platform on Thursday at the Mohammed VI University Hospital in Agadir, Morocco’s Press Agency (MAP) reported. The ministry introduced the service following the successful completion of the first robotic-assisted surgical procedures at the hospital. He said the technology improves surgical accuracy, reduces postoperative complications, and helps patients recover faster. He added that the hospital will introduce the technology gradually across several surgical specialties under the supervision of experienced national specialists. The launch is a first for Africa, as a public hospital integrates the advanced “Revo-i” robotic surgery system and aligns with Morocco’s broader strategy to modernize its health system and reinforce national health sovereignty.
