One of the participating agencies is the Community Food Pantry of Grundy County, which operates under the Feeding America network through the Second Harvest Community Food Bank of St. Joseph. United Way funding is used to purchase food and cover operating expenses, including utilities, insurance, and upkeep of the building. Two additional agencies funded through the campaign are the Green Hills Community Action Agency and the Salvation Army of Grundy County. The United Way of Grundy County conducts residential canvassing in the fall and sends annual donation requests to local businesses each January. Contributions are accepted year-round and distributed among the eight partner organizations: the Community Food Pantry of Grundy County, Grundy County Council on Aging, Grundy County Juvenile Office, Juvenile Court Diversion Program, Parents as Teachers, Girl Scouts of Northeast Kansas and Northwest Missouri, Salvation Army of Grundy County, and Green Hills Community Action Agency.
