The Chillicothe City Council approved four ordinances and one resolution during its Jan. 26 meeting, addressing equipment purchases, infrastructure projects, public safety operations, and long-term hazard planning. The council also approved an ordinance accepting a bid for the purchase of a 2027 Freightliner for municipal utilities. The council approved a waiver of the radio testing requirement under the International Fire Code to allow issuance of the certificate of occupancy. The council approved a request from Chillicothe Municipal Utilities General Manager Matt Hopper to allow CMU to burn debris within city limits. City Auditor Allison Jeffries reported the city has historically contracted with J and M Fireworks Display for Fourth of July celebrations.
