(Mississippi College)Mississippi College’s Beth Everett took the music of Mississippi to one of the world’s most prestigious stages this December, guest conducting at Carnegie Hall in New York City before returning home to lead a whirlwind month of performances with MC Singers. The performance brought together singers from across the country, including about three dozen members of the Mississippi Chorus. “For a Mississippian to stand on that stage and guide that many voices is an incredible honor,” Everett said. The following day, Everett returned to Clinton to prepare MC Singers for the university’s annual Festival of Lights concerts, which she called the ensemble’s strongest Christmas performances to date.
