Four suspects, described as “armed and dangerous,” were arrested following a joint investigation by the Claiborne County Sheriff’s Office and the Copiah County Sheriff’s Office after an overnight incident involving gunfire near the county line.
According to the Claiborne County Sheriff’s Office, deputies responded during the early morning hours of Jan. 25, 2026, to reports of shots fired near the Claiborne–Copiah County line.
Because of jurisdictional boundaries, the Copiah County Sheriff’s Office was immediately notified, and the two agencies worked together throughout the investigation.
In Copiah County, Truitt is charged with 12 counts of conspiracy to commit a crime.
The investigation remains ongoing, according to Claiborne County Sheriff Edward Goods.
