Staff ReportCLAYPOOL – A Turkey Creek Fire Territory firefighter was arrested for allegedly battering a police officer and illegally hunting on a person’s property. When the officer exited his police vehicle and yelled at Maher to stop, Maher allegedly refused to do so. Silver Lake’s chief deputy marshal assisted the conservation officer and saw Maher’s ORV disregard a stop sign. The Silver Lake officer attempted to pull Maher over, but Maher continued driving and pulled into his driveway. Witnesses who reported the incident said they saw Maher enter the property with a flashlight when it got dark.
