Effie Jean Allen, 91, North Manchester, formerly of Silver Lake, died Tuesday, Jan. 27, 2026, at home. She was born Feb. 24, 1934, in Gunlock, Ky. On March 12, 1955, she married Glen Allen, who preceded her in death. She is survived by her daughter, Kimberly Yates, North Manchester; brothers, Forrest Howard, North Manchester, and Dean Howard, Silver Lake; sisters, Geraldine Howard and Ilant (Chandler) Shepherd, both of Silver Lake; three grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.
