The Albanese government has not-so-quietly invoked new national security drone-kill powers that will give the Department of Defence and law enforcement agencies — and their authorised delegates — the power to knock out, intercept, disable, and commandeer devices deemed potentially hostile. As state and federal authorities continue to battle the proliferation of increasingly powerful and proficient uncrewed transportation and surveillance systems utilised for everything from surveillance by criminals on hit targets to drug drops and delivering phones to gaols, new drone knock-out powers have been very substantially extended.
