A burglar broke into a Norwalk store that sells guns and fishing and outdoor supplies early Thursday morning, Jan. 29, authorities said, then refused to come out when discovered. A standoff with sheriff’s deputies ended six-plus hours later when the man surrendered. The Special Enforcement Bureau, which is the sheriff’s SWAT, and the Crisis Negotiation Team were called in. Around 9:30 a.m., the man was arrested, sheriff’s Lt. Darrin Offringa said. It is unclear what the man was after.
