Wednesday night, The LSU Student Senate appointed five new members to their LGBTQ+ Caucus.
Coen was unable to attend Wednesday’s meeting, so she wrote a statement to persuade the Senate to admit her to the Caucus.

“I’ve spent these last few years working alongside my fellow caucus members to advocate for and support queer and marginalized tigers.
The other four members appointed to the Caucus — Slowik, Lance Dinicola, Tayla Anderson and Gabreyela Gonzalez — were appointed with no debate.
