(Courtesy image)Paramount’s CBS News & Stations is launching a new morning show for its fledging owned-and-operated TV station in Atlanta. The show, called “CBS News Atlanta Mornings,” will start airing on WUPA (Channel 69) on Monday, February 2, preceding the network’s national morning show “”CBS Mornings.”CBS News Atlanta Mornings will be anchored by Jobina Fortson-Evans, with traffic reports by Alexa Liacko, weather forecasts from meteorologist Troy Bridges and field reports from Kaley Fedko. “This morning show reflects our commitment to meaningful local journalism, paired with the unmatched resources of CBS News.”The show is the first time the CBS-owned station has offered its own morning news program since it began airing CBS programming last year. WANF (Channel 46), the Gray Media-owned independent station, served as the market’s CBS affiliate prior to the switch and aired its own morning news program. CBS says WUPA’s programming has seen a 150 percent spike in viewership since the affiliation switch.
