The Brenham Heritage Museum has a new lecture series honoring a founder of the museum and a champion of Washington County history, education and civic life. (courtesy Brenham Heritage Museum)The Dr. Wilfred Dietrich Speaker Series, kicking off in February, will feature a distinguished lineup of historians who will lead presentations on Texas history, Washington County, and the people and events that shaped the region. In addition to helping found the Brenham Heritage Museum, Dr. Dietrich served for many years as chair of the Washington County chapter of the Texas Historical Commission, during which time the county received more than 20 distinguished service awards. The Speaker Series programs will be held at the museum from 6 to 7 p.m., with a members-only reception at 5:30 p.m. on the museum’s main floor.
