The reporter explained that the pub 'went on the skew' when one end of it, built over an old coalmine, subsided.
After hearing about the pub where 'even teetotallers could feel tipsy', Vernon said: "We don't know whether it still exists."
But shortly after pressing play, Vernon got a text from listener Paul, a painter from Shropshire, who gave him the bad news.
