Published January 29, 2026Getting your Trinity Audio player ready...John Matthew of Columbus, NC, passed away January 23, 2026, at his home. He is survived by his wife and companion of 40 years, Shawn K. Matthew, and a sister, Alice Martinez of Lima, Peru. In music, John’s passion was classical, especially his favorite composer, Chopin, to whom he dedicated many an hour at his Steinway.
