US-based private equity giant Carlyle has struck a deal to buy Lukoil’s international assets for an undisclosed price. Carlyle will buy Lukoil International, it said. Before the Carlyle deal was announced, Rystad Energy suggested Lukoil’s assets may be valued around $17 billion. Two days after Borr’s move, Lukoil said it would sell off its international assets. Before the Carlyle bid, Lukoil appeared to be working on smaller, piecemeal deals.
