Saltend Chemicals Park in Humberside will become the home of LanzaTech’s Dragon II project. This £600 million investment will produce sustainable aviation fuel (SAF) and renewable diesel. Once operational, the project aims to deliver 1% of the total UK jet fuel requirement, alongside roughly 8,000 tonnes of ‘renewable’ diesel annually. LanzaTech also plans to produce 50,000 tonnes of ethanol, which will be processed from sites in Milford Haven and Saltend. px Group CEO Geoff Holmes said the “major investment from LanzaTech demonstrates Saltend’s continued attractiveness for world-first, low-carbon projects.
