Angela Garcia Falconetti will be considered to be the interim president of the University of North Florida, according to an email announcement sent out by the university. Falconetti is a University of North Florida alumnus and a Jacksonville native. The UNF Board of Trustees is scheduled to meet on Feb. 5 to consider the UNF leadership transition since current President Moez Limayem has been approved to be president of the University of South Florida. Falconetti earned her master’s degree and a doctorate in Educational Leadership from UNF, with specializations in Instructional Leadership, Postsecondary Education, and Adult Learning, according to the email. “An interim president will help continue the extraordinary upward momentum focused on student success, academic excellence, strong research and innovation and expanding and strengthening community collaboration,” read the email.
