The Cree Nation of Mistissini — which is located in the James Bay region of Quebec, Canada — is under a lockdown after at least two men were reportedly fatally shot. The Cree Nation announced the lockdown in a Facebook post at 6:43 a.m. on Thursday, which reads, "Chief Michael Petawabano of the Cree Nation of Mistissini announces that the community is under lockdown effective immediately following a serious shooting incident that has resulted in multiple fatalities." It added that the Eeyou Eenou Police Force (EEPF) and Sûreté de Québec (SQ) are conducting an investigation into the incident. "We ask all community members to remain calm, stay indoors, and cooperate fully with police as they conduct their investigation," he added. The entire Cree Nation stands together during this difficult time," the statement says.
