Shaw is currently an assistant principal at Free Home Elementary School but was placed on administrative leave once the allegations against her broke. After that, she transitioned into educational leadership and became an assistant principal at Oak Grove Fine Arts Academy in 2012, then was appointed assistant principal at Bascomb Elementary in 2016 — a job she held for eight years. In 2024, she joined Free Home as the school's first full-time assistant principal, by that point already having 24 years of educational experience.
