Police and paramedics had been called out to the 'Crewe area' following reports of a person on the lines. Traffic monitoring site Inrix had initially reported the incident occurred in Winsford, however BTP has clarified the tragedy occurred in Crewe. ‌A BTP spokesman said: "Officers were called at around 8.20am today (29 January) to reports of a casualty on the tracks in the Crewe area. Officers responded with paramedics, however sadly a person was pronounced dead at the scene.
