A landscape gardener’s death from a falling tree near Stonehaven could have been avoided, a sheriff has ruled. Andrew Pirie was working alongside a colleague on a farm near Stonehaven in June 2020. And Sheriff Andrew Miller has now ruled Mr Pirie’s death could have been avoided. “The procurator fiscal ensured that the full facts and circumstances of Andrew Pirie’s death were provided at the mandatory fatal accident inquiry. “The determination has been provided to Mr Pirie’s family and our thoughts are with them at this time.”
