Lafayette County Emergency Management reported the area’s first storm-related death in Lafayette County following an accident involving a generator on a resident’s property. On Wednesday, Jan. 28, at approximately 3:05 p.m., Lafayette County Fire Department paramedics responded to a call involving an individual who had fallen on their property while refilling a generator and struck their head. Lafayette County EMA is withholding the name of the deceased out of respect for the family. “Our thoughts and prayers are with the family and friends during this incredibly difficult time,” said Steve Quarles, Director of Lafayette County Emergency Management.
