Unite members employed by the finance sector outsourcer Diligenta were on the picket line outside their city centre offices today (Thursday, January 29).
Diligenta made an average of £82,000 per staff member in 2023, its pre-tax profit was £27.1m the same year.
Speaking on the picket line this morning, Michelle Smith, Unite’s lead organiser for the finance sector, said preconceived ideas about finance workers do not match with reality.
She said: “These employers are telling us they can't afford to pay a fair pay rate to their workers.
We're talking about the finance sector.
