A Macomb Township man pleaded no contest for a Mount Clemens drunken driving crash that killed another man under a deal in which he will serve one year in the Macomb County Jail. Klein’s attorneys, Steven Rabaut and Peter Torrice, reached a plea agreement with Servito to serve one year in the Mount Clemens jail. Phillips’ family consented to the deal, and two members observed the hearing remotely over Zoom video, officials said. Phillips had stopped and parked his vehicle and trailer at the railroad tracks, exited and was located between the Silverado and trailer when the Tacoma struck the trailer. Klein’s blood-alcohol contest after the crash was 0.188%, more than twice the legal limit for intoxication and beyond the “super drunk” level, prosecutors said.
