Government officials have stated that Met Éireann should and will be questioned over its weather forecasting. He also accused Met Éireann of ‘guarding’ information while speaking on South East Radio. ‘Also what we’ve asked Met Éireann to do as well is to look at how they bring these warnings – Yellow, Orange, Red warnings. Climate and Environment spokesperson Ciarán Ahern remarked: ‘The comments made by the Housing Minister about Met Éireann are extraordinary. Met Éireann came under a lot of criticism because they didn’t have the Red warning at that time.’
