New York State Sen. Joseph Griffo, R, C-Rome, Assemblyman Brian Miller, D-122 and Assemblywoman Marianne Buttenschon, D-119 met on Friday at Utica’s state building to outline a multifaceted and comprehensive approach to help New Yorkers challenged by skyrocketing energy costs.
Griffo said that taxes, decisions made by utility companies and recent energy policies have contributed to rate increases.
“I have continued to hear from constituents about increasing utility bills and the challenges that result from them,” said Griffo said.
Griffo, Miller and Buttenschon believe their ongoing efforts would provide immediate and long-term relief to New Yorkers and their families.
Those efforts include:– returning unused funds from the New York State Clean Energy Fund to ratepayers.
