The pedestrian was rushed to a local area hospital with serious injuries and is currently in critical condition. The Richmond Serious Crime Unit has taken over the investigation and a thorough video canvass of the area confirmed the pedestrian was crossing the road when she was struck by a passing vehicle. The driver of this vehicle has been identified, and speed and alcohol have been ruled out as contributing factors to the collision. Video canvassing of the incident also showed there was another pedestrian that was in the area at the time and may have witnessed the incident.
